Prof. Rumki Basu had the privilege of delivering both the Inaugural Remarks and the Concluding Address at the International Conference on Public Policy (ICOPP) 2025 on “Rethinking Public Services: Advancing Policy, Delivery, and Impact,” held at Amity University, Noida, on February 27, 2025.
The keynote speaker, Shri Srinivas Voruganti, Secretary, DARPG, Government of India, provided an insider’s perspective on the citizen-centric administrative reforms currently being undertaken to improve public service delivery at all levels. His comprehensive narrative was well received by the students, offering valuable insights into the Government of India’s ongoing initiatives.
A panel discussion featuring Dr. Indranil Mitra, Mr. Amitabh Sinha, Ms. Meghna Bal, Mr. Niranjan Sahoo, and Mr. Chandan Dikshit was a major highlight of the conference. This enlightening discourse critically examined contemporary issues surrounding public service delivery and policy reform.
The research papers presented during the conference were nuanced and insightful, addressing key themes such as social security and well-being, financing public service delivery systems, technological innovations, and civic engagement and social entrepreneurship.
Additionally, Dr. Chandra B. Sharma delivered a compelling address, emphasizing the urgent need for transformative changes in India’s education system, which resonated strongly with the audience.
