The Centre for Public Policy and Governance (CPP&G) at the Institute of Social Sciences, New Delhi, successfully concluded a 10-day intensive internship program for students from Dibrugarh University, held from July 1 to July 10. The workshop provided an immersive platform for emerging scholars to engage deeply with key thematic areas in public policy, geopolitics, and research methodology.
Throughout the program, the student cohort, comprising Agnish, Anurag, Plaban, and Rajashree, participated in rigorous discussions covering the emerging world order, Global South perspectives, and critical policy domains such as health and gender. In addition to theoretical frameworks, the sessions emphasized practical skills, guiding participants through the structure of actionable policy briefs and culminating in the preparation and presentation of individual project proposals.
The success of the initiative was supported by leadership and expert mentorship across multiple disciplines. Program direction and guidance were provided by ISS Director Mr. Manoj Rai and CPP&G Head Prof. Dr. Rumki Basu. The workshop also featured specialized contributions from guest experts, including Prof. Bidisha Banerji, Mr. Abhay Oberoi, Ms. Aan Mary Suresh, Ms. Sriya Rane, Ms. Dipti A., Dr. Ekta Singh, Ms. Prisha Rai, and Dr. Subhradipta Sarkar, who shared strategic insights and research techniques with the participants.
The workshop concluded with a strong emphasis on continuous learning and practical application. By equipping participants with robust analytical tools and policy formulation frameworks, the program successfully reinforced CPP&G’s commitment to mentoring the next generation of policy leaders and research practitioners.
